I was interested in the suggestion about reopening the railway line to Beverley via Monk's Cross ('Plea to reopen disused rail line', April 23).
I wholly support the rediscovery of rail travel to help generate income for urban and rural areas based on tourism through good public transport links.
It is much more environmentally friendly and is a wonderful way to see parts of the country not seem by car.
Is it possible to reconnect Scarborough and Whitby by rail and can we support the development of the old Wensleydale line from Northallerton.
