Sixteen-year-old Michael Cole was the star of the fourth division when he hit 88 and then took 3-66 for Thorp Arch & Boston Spa.

Unfortunately his efforts were in vain as his side lost by seven wickets to Huby despite posting a target of 212-5. Cole was well supported by Mike Warrilow (52) but Huby hit back as Darren Howell and Mike Mizerwinski rattled up 157 in a second-wicket stand which decided the destination of the spoils.

Mizerwinski fell when just four short of a deserved century while Howell was out for 71.

Dunnington's Matthew Coulson completed his maiden half-century when he scored an unbeaten 69 in a total of 194-7 against Londesbrough Park.

Michael Caulfield, 18, took 4-51 for Londesbrough, who batted out for a draw at 102-5 with John Williamson making 33.

All six Acomb batsmen made significant contributions to their total of 206-4 when they entertained Malton & Old Malton.

In reply, Dave Bradshaw hit the game's top score as he made 53 and Jim Dawson added 35. However, with Dave Stroughair taking 3-29, Malton were left looking over the precipice when the ganme ended in a draw at 176-9.

Sheriff Hutton's Simon Thornton took 5-50 at Cawood as the home side reached 151-7 through Richard Nicholson's impressive 80 and Gary Heeps' 49.

Ed Taylor replied with 41 but Nigel Bratram produced a controlled spell of 3-36 and the game was evenly poised with Sheriff showing at 110-5 when the rains fell.

One-time Sheriff Hutton Bridge player Brian Burton posed problems for his former club as he took 5-28 to bowl Osbaldwick into a strong position. Vic Klays (35) and Dave Ellis (27) showed a measure of resistence but they were only able to help Bridge to 115-9.

After the break, Ed Baldwin made 43 and Andy Hall 41 and, despite both being dismissed, Osbaldwick were able to move to a fairly comfortable five-wicket victory.

Rain also had the final say when it ended Whitkirk's reply to Easingwold's 104-8 after 25 overs had seen the home side reduced to 50-5.
