Dringhouses maintained their good start in division two as they beat a fancied Sewerby side by four wickets.

Chris Briggs top scored for the men from the coast with 62 but Mick Kenyon's spinning fingers were again on form as he grabbed 4-30 and, with Kev McGuinness also bagging four wickets, at a cost of 43, Sewerby were only able to reach 131-9.

John Crowe then dominated as he made 56 to help Dringy to 134-6.

There was a game of two halves at Hornsea where the home side overwhelmed Castleford by ten wickets.

Before the tea interval, bowlers were in command as Ahmed Nadeem captured 5-21 and Richard Medforth 3-10 as Castleford reached 122 all out.

It was soon evident that this score was inadequate as Nadeem followed with an unbeaten 70 and Paul Clappison made 54 not out.

Malton and Studley Royal played out a draw. Malton's innings was dominated by Aussie David Nankervis who made 83 out of their 184-8. Adrian Caines was Studley's best bowler with 3-33 and he then saw his figures almost matched as Matt Yates took 3-39 when Studley replied.

Victorian Jerrard Loftren made a top score of 33 for the Ripon-based outfit who earned a draw at 150-5 with Mark Peacock undefeated on 31.

Harrogate felt the extremes of frustration at Rowntrees when the umpires made the brave decision to take the players off because of heavy rain when Harrogate needed a mere three runs for victory with eight wickets in hand.

Only Sean Marshall (39) was able to post a significant score for 'Trees as they were reduced to 104-9 by Dan Longhurst who took 4-25.

Harrogate were then cruising towards victory via Australian Kane Gordon (31) and Andrew Taylor (39no) when the umpires decided the conditions had become unacceptable with Harrogate showing at 102-2.

There was little comfort for hosts Scarborough as they lost by eight wickets to Bridlington.

Graham Wilson made 48 for the home side but they were dismissed for 135 as Andrew Brown took 5-22.

Hafiz Khalid then proved his value in making 63 as Bridlington eased to victory.

Stillington's result arrived late due to being phoned in to the wrong number, However there delayed message did reveal that their game with Wilberfoss had been abandoned after they had scored 151-9 as Paul Lofthouse captured 4-53 and Des Healey 3-27.

Wilberfoss were going along quite nicely at 105-3 thanks to 51 from Ian Clish and 34 by Geoff Room but the weather had the final word.
