E-POLICING is soon to become a reality for North Yorkshire Police as the force has invested in a new computer system.
All 2,500 members of staff who will use the system, which uses Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000, have received training on the new PCs from Knaresborough-based company, Keystrokes.
The system should improve the way the police force works. Once the training is complete at the end of this month, staff will be able to use time-saving spreadsheets that will allow them to immediately access important information.
It is hoped the new computers will make everyone's work more effective.
