I LIKE to be entertained when I sit down to watch television after a tiring day, not talked down to by condescending Blue Peter dropouts with irritating accents on how to garden, decorate or cook and I certainly don't want to watch "I think I'm a celebrity watch my temper tantrums and discuss my ailing bodily functions."

We used to throw Christians to the lions and gather round Madam Guillotine for entertainment, so why haven't things improved?

Is it only me or are others switching off and enjoying the "peace" and reading more books?

I would happily give up my TV licence if it wasn't for Martin Clunes and the occasional programme of brilliance.

...I'M A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here was compulsive viewing and, despite certain restrictions put on the show by its producers, the contestants were superb.

Fash was a real sport, and in spite of a vindictive public voting for him on numerous occasions to undertake tasks, he did them with great self-control.

The mixture of personalities was excellent and everyone played their part, including Daniella.

Well done ITV.
