Kevin Darley is the man to follow on both sides of the Pennines tomorrow as he undertakes one of the many double-headers he will embrace this season in his insatiable search for winners.

Darley will be in action at Haydock in the afternoon, before travelling back across the M62 to take in the evening programme at Pontefract. Both venues promise to provide him with handsome rewards.

Gondolin is Darley's mount in the £14,000 Golborne Rated Handicap at Haydock and Gerard Butler's progressive three-year-old will be hard to beat.

The winner of a maiden race at Windsor last week on only his fourth start, Gondolin has only a 3lb penalty here and, open to further improvement, promises to be a tough nut to crack.

Tedstale can be another Darley winner in the Fauls Green Handicap.

Tim Easterby's gelding was successful at Newcastle on his first outing this season and then finished fourth in the Thirsk Hunt Cup - a race he had won last season - after a tardy start and a less-than-ideal passage through the race.

A useful handicapper on his day, Tedstale can get back on the winning trail tomorrow.

Darley, who will be heading from Lancashire to Yorkshire before the final race at Haydock gets underway, has further good prospects at Pontefract.

Windy Britain, winner of her last two races, including her latest under the Sheriff Hutton jockey at Carlisle, gets the nap vote in the MSK Fillies' Handicap.

Although she scored only narrowly last time, Windy Britain was idling in front, having struck the lead with plenty of petrol still in the tank. There is more to come from her.

Imperial Echo, a well-regarded two-year-old from David Barron's Thirsk yard, a beaten favourite first time out, has plenty going for him, with Darley in the saddle, in the £20,000 Weatherbys Insurance Conditions Stakes, the feature race at Pontefract, and one which always attracts a decent field.

Riska King, trained by Richard Fahey and the mount of Paul Hanagan, deserves respect in the Micklegate Handicap.

The three-year-old has occupied fourth-place on his all his three outings in tough company this season. He is overdue a promotion.

Back at Haydock, a note should be made of Fonthill Road in the Bickershaw Handicap over six furlongs.

Richard Fahey's three-year-old won his first two races this season and was far from disgraced on unsuitably fast ground at Newmarket in his hat-trick bid. Tomorrow's softer surface should suit him ideally.

Milton Bradley is always a trainer to have on your side when his horses hit form, which they have recently.

He saddles Mutasawwar in the Monks Heath and this enthusiastic veteran merits support.
