ONE DOWN... one to go. That's the mantra at New Earswick All Blacks after lifting the Accident Cup at White Rose Avenue.

Now their sights are set of the White Rose Trophy when they tackle Hunslet Old Boys in the final tonight.

The All Blacks proved too strong on their own White Rose Avenue ground when they beat a young York Acorn side 32-15 in the Accident Cup final on Tuesday night.

They were soon in to their stride, Alan Pallister crashing over from a quickly-taken penalty after just four minutes. Carl Pallister kicked the extra points.

An Andy Gargan drop goal for Acorn reduced the arrears but Mick Harrison's neat side-step put him in the clear to get All Blacks' second try which kicker Carl Pallister improved.

Harrison then created a try for second row Jamie Rhodes, who soon added another before half-time, both converted by Carl Pallister.

Despite trailing 24-1 at the break, Acorn hit back with two tries in ten minutes by Adam Endersby and second row forward Dean Crump, who was named man-of-the-match. Kev Brundrett managed to kick one of the goals and Acorn were looking lively at this point.

New Earswick re-established their authority when Harrison kicked through and Tom Perks pounced on the ball to score in the corner.

Eight minutes from the end an attempted drop goal by Carl Pallister went wide, but quick-thinking Matt Godfrey gathered the ball and went in to score.

Acorn had the final say with the last try of the game with a barnstorming run down the wing by prop Lee Brundrett.

The trophy was presented to All Blacks' Jez Petch by Spen Allison, vice-chairman of Barla.

Sam Gell score seven of All Blacks Under-8s eight tries as they beat Beeston Broncos 8-7. Jordan Bracewell scored the other try.

Newcomer Liam Lowson was man-of-the-match. Top tackler was Spencer Mitchell.
