Dazzling Bay can provide Tim Easterby with his second successive triumph in the William Hill Trophy, the feature race on Timeform Charity Day, at York tomorrow.

Twelve months ago, Easterby clinched the major honours with Artie, who scrambled home by a short-head, and Dazzling Bay, one of the Great Habton trainer's two big-race runners tomorrow, is fancied to produce an encore in this £75,000 showpiece.

At Newmarket's Guineas meeting, Dazzling Bay highlighted his sprinting talents when producing a storming late run to capture a competitive handicap in the hands of John Egan, who has been booked for the mount again.

Easterby will also be represented by Majestic Times, the mount of Dale Gibson, who has ridden three winners in the last three days and who was on board the lightly-weighted Artie in his moment of glory last season.

But Dazzling Bay looks the main hope of Habton Grange. Dangers come in the form of 19 rivals, including the lightly-weighted River Falcon, but the local sprinter with the appropriate name is expected to give a dazzling display.

The Easterby family make a habit of proving that charity begins at home on Timeform Day, and Sheriff Hutton-based Mick, Tim's uncle, is also expected to figure on the scoresheet with Cat's Whiskers and Sporting Gesture.

The latter goes for the Queen Mother's Cup, the richest race of the season for lady amateur riders, and will be partnered by the experienced Serena Brotherton.

Tough, consistent and a previous course winner, Sporting Gesture looks sure to run a big race in this £18,000 event.

Nobody would begrudge a win for Cat's Whiskers in the opening Cadogan Silver Salver Handicap.

Dale Gibson's mount has finished second in the Thirsk Hunt Cup and the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar this season, both times running his heart out. He is overdue a winning turn.

Newmarket trainer Geoff Wragg could hold the key to the Daniel Prenn Royal Yorkshire Rated Handicap with Grand Passion.

The mount of Darryll Holland, Grand Passion advertised his ability at Sandown earlier this season when winning the Esher Cup in fine style. He is fancied to return to action in a similar blaze of glory.

The well-regarded Manntab, trained by David Loder and the mount of Frankie Dettori, is selected to make a winning debut in the Leonard Sainer Maiden Stakes, while the wide-open Charles Henry Memorial Handicap over six furlongs offers the speedy Dizzy In The Head, trained at Barnsley by Jimmy O'Reilly, the chance to supplement his decisive Nottingham success. He is sportingly napped to oblige again.

As for the concluding race, the Michael Sobell Maiden Stakes, the combination of Kieren Fallon and Sir Michael Stoute, represented by well-bred newcomer Hawk Flyer, is difficult to ignore.

At Sandown, Baldour, trained by Ed Dunlop is the choice in the Tote/NSPCC Handicap.

Yet to strike winning form this season Baldour has, however, shaped well in defeat. Opportunity is expected to come knocking for him tomorrow.

The promising Day Fort (1.40) and the speedy Isengard (3.55) are also worth noting at the Esher track.
