MARK Hartley threw a maximum in a magical opening 14-dart York John Smith's Mixed League game for Cygnet 'B'.

But from thereon it was all downhill for Hartley's side as their opponents Cygnet 'A' collected the remaining eight games.

Martyn Turner attempted to raise Leeman 'A' with an excellent 180 for 18 darts at Cygnet 'C', but the latter came up with the 5-4 decider, taken by John Clemit-Carol Stubbs.

Golden Slipper 'B' had Barry Noble chalking 18 darts and Paul Partridge included 180 before partnering Aline Turpin to the decider against Leeman 'B', while Cue Ball's 7-2 win over Beeswing saw Pete Leake out in 20, Wendy Smith exiting on bull and Leake-Michelle Britton registering 701 in 24 darts.

Angie Hields gamed with a fine 22 darts as Huntington went to 6-3 at Slipper 'A'.

Roy Cockerill was the lone point-taker for Victoria Vaults against Cygnet 'D', who had a maximum scorer in Paul Botterill.

Poacher shot back to share the top of the table in York John Smith's Men's League division one.

After Andy King had won the first game for Saddle, Poacher never looked back.

Ray McInally, who score 100,100,100,121 for 19, Lee Brundrett (180 for 15), Darren Hawcroft-Brundrett (24) and Gary Kynman-McInally (180) played exceptionally well in the 8-1 score.

Shepherd are joint leaders. Heath Scaife gamed in 18, and threw 180 in the pairs, and Barry Davidson went out in 21 darts. Mick Willsden (180) - Kev Walton took the 5-4 decider to beat previous front-runners Bay Horse Marygate, who had Kelvyn Frankel and Rich Plummer 126-full finish giving their all.

Green Tree 'B' won their second match of the season to move off the bottom.

They recorded good games from Ian Powell (20) and Tony-Steve Snowden, who secured the winner in a 6-3 victory over Blacksmith's. For the latter, Andy Turpin registered six hundreds in his games which helped recoup the aggregate.

In division two, Swan, with Pete McNichol (bull finish), Ged McMahon, Barry McLaughlin and Andy Carruthers putting in sterling performances, kept their unbeaten record by beating Institute 'B' 7-2, whose Kev Fallowfield and Simon Schofield played well.

Slip 'B', with fine shows from Keith Mercer and the match-winning pair, Ted Bone-Paul Whitehead beat third-placed Cygnet 'B' 5-4. But the last game partnership of Ian-Derek Hartley snatched Cygnet the extra point by nine.

Sun 'B' picked up their first points of the season with fine wins from Chris, Les and Gary Brown giving Maurice Baker-John Wheldon the opportunity to grab the match 5-4. However, good replies from Mark Lea and Chris Hardy-Lea (120 finish) secured Flag and Whistle the aggregate point.

Adrian Campion, Mick Shepherd and Rich Craig shone as Slip 'A' beat Green Tree 'A' 7-2, who had Tom Wright playing well.

Chris Thompson scored 140,100,100,136 and 25 for a superb 14-darter, then added a fine 19 darts in Sun's York Unique-Phoenix League division one match with Cygnet 'B'.

Thompson earlier notched a maximum in an excellent 23-dart 701 pairs game with Tony Cooper and Dave Gibbons also including 180, while Cygnet's only point came in the team game.

Cygnet 'A' demolished Mitre 'A' 6-1 as Pete Leake recorded a brace of 21 darters, one with a fine 111 outshot.

Dave Mason supported with 20 darts and Jack White wrapped up a good performance with a 20-darter. Mitre's only point came from John Smith-Phil Good.

Clifton's Martyn Turner threw 14 darts and Graham Sanderson added 17, but Mark Jones took the last game to seal the win for Shepherd, whose Owen Legg also closed in 17 darts.

A bull finish from Andy Carruthers inspired Rose & Crown to pip Bishopthorpe 4-3, while a magnificent 14-darter from Barry Noble put Slipper level at Acomb and Paul Partridge took the decider.

In division two, 20 darts from Mark Hartley and 21 from Sean Robinson steered Phoenix 'A' to an emphatic 6-1 success over Sun, Marston, whose winner was Steve Hawksby.

Charlie Goldsmith included a maximum in his superb 14-darter for Holgate against Phoenix 'B', whose Karen Richardson was their only singles winner.

Blacksmith's kept the pressure on second-placed Alice Hawthorn with a 5-2 result at Mitre 'B'.

James Allen and Jon O'Mara (19) were Alice's best in their 5-2 win at Lord Nelson.
