A YORK teenager has been given the chance to train at a top dancing school.
Sarah Cowling, a Year 10 pupil at Bootham School, York, was over the moon when she found out she had won the chance to train alongside the Phoenix Dance Company at the prestigious Phoenix Academy in Leeds.
Lis Hooley, head of PE at Bootham, said: "This is a great opportunity for Sarah who has shown much potential throughout her dance sessions with us at Bootham.
"I know she is very excited and all her friends here are delighted for her."
The Phoenix Dance Company has had a long association with Bootham and has conducted master classes and training sessions at the school for the last ten years.
