DAVE O'Hara produced a superb 17-darter as Bay Horse 'A' demolished Woodman 8-1 in York Phoenix Open League division one.

This was backed by a fine 19 darts from Paul Cooper and Kev O'Hara, who included five tons plus. Dave King was Woodman's only point scorer.

Mick Harris (20) and Dave Tatterton were Howden's only winners as Volunteer won 7-2 to keep pressure on leaders Bay Horse with Paul Dixon making an exit on bull.

Jim Wallis was maximum scorer and Darren Bailey-Dave Binks secured Phoenix's 6-3 win at Slipper. Tony Noble-Bob Greenwood took Cygnet to victory as good scores from Paul and Steve Lane secured the extra point at Mitre.

Ebor remain top of division two as Mick Holdsworth threw an 88-outshot in two to take the win over Yearsley, whose Alan Stevens notched a maximum.

Crescent 'A' won within the singles against Huntington 'B', who rallied to take all the pairs to clinch the aggregate. Clarence had to wait until the last game to get their only point at Three Cranes, who move into second place.

Runaway division three leaders Jackdaw strengthened their grip with a 7-2 victory at Indoor Bowls, winning all the singles with James Fitzpatrick in excellent form.

Burton held Falcon 3-3 but Falcon moved up a gear to take the pairs, while good scores from Arthur Scott and Stan Isaac ensured Crescent 'B' got the aggregate in a 5-4 defeat at the hands of Reindeer, whose Bob Rochester did well.

Both the league's mixed pairs and pairs competitions will be held in blocks.

Dawn Exton narrowly missed tops for a 151-finish but still gamed in 20 darts to give Cygnet a 6-0 advantage against Leeman in York John Smith's Ladies League division one.

Angela Powell shot out on 84 but Cygnet were prevented from a full house by the Floss Crampton-Carol Minton pairing.

Crystal Palace, whose Michalle Britton gamed in 20 and Roz Kerr scored highly, were also denied a clean sheet when Clifton's Jo Hodges teamed up with Jan Wilberham.

Angie Hields, with 100, 100, 114 in the singles and 100, 140 in the pairs, helped steer CueBall 'B' to a 7-2 win at Phoenix while CueBall 'C' team's Jean Elliott shot out on bull to set up a decider, but Independent's captain Sandra Bruce-Karen Alton secured the victory.

Slipper raced into a commanding 4-0 lead, but Christine Jackson started Flag's revival which saw two tons from Sharon Neads, an 87-close by Jo West and Sandra Fairclough-Sarah Jackson sealing the win.

Division two front-runners Holgate were given a lesson in finishing by 6-3 winners Clifton, while Slip held on to second spot after recovering from 3-0 down at Dringhouses to win 5-4.

Shepherd 'A' chalked up their first win of the season at the expense of Severus, whose Glynnis Simpson was involved in both their points. Linda O'Leary starred for the victors.

Sun had Betty Smith closing on 87 but it was Cygnet 'B' who came out on top, Sue Claydon and Jeanette Craven winning the ninth game.

In division three, Britannia 'B' have a slender lead after overwhelming Tang Hall 6-3 with captain Alison Buckley leading the way.

Shepherd 'B' were 4-0 up against Burton WMC whose Cath Roe lit their fire and Val Pinder-Margaret Davis levelled to 4-4. However, good scoring from both Margaret Lumb and Julie Stables saw Shepherd to a 7-4 win. Victoria Vaults beat Leeman 'A' 8-3, after leading 5-1.

Mitre maintained pressure on the leaders with a 6-3 win at Mount. Cheryl Clancey made a good contribution to give them a 4-2 advantage going into the pairs. Jubilee are also in the hunt following a resounding 7-2 win against Puss, whose points came via Di Schofield and Carol Stone, while Shelagh Kenny helped Leeman to a hard fought 6-3 victory over division four leaders Woolpack.

Cueball and Reindeer were all square after the singles but Cue Ball 'A' rallied in the remaining games.
