A BUILDING site worker escaped uninjured after a JCB tipped over while he was working.

The worker who was driving the JCB on a building site near to Haxby Road Primary School was taken to hospital but was back at work hours later following the incident on Friday morning. The site manager, who did not want to be named, said the driver was very experienced, but got too close to a hill and his vehicle toppled over. He said: "He was very lucky. We were all thankful that he was OK."

The police and ambulance service visited the site along with a health and safety officer.
