DENISE Howard, who has announced she is selling YorkBoat, has been a fantastic ambassador for this city.
With her husband John, she has helped to make the sometimes neglected River Ouse into a tourist attraction in its own right. Denise also helped to boost tourism in York during a three-year spell as chairman of the York Tourism Board.
Fortunately for York, the riverboat business is being sold as a going concern, so the cheerful flotilla of boats will continue to glide along the Ouse.
