CASTLEGARTH took control of Fulford Ladies Invitation League division two with a 66-42 victory over Appleton Roebuck.

That left them two points ahead of Wheldrake, who have a game in hand.

Wheldrake edged out Rowntree Park 59-49, whose Sandra Pauw and Ronnie Davison were the only couple to win all three

rubbers.

Judy Cook and Thelma Ottaway won 7-5 10-2 11-1 as Knaresborough beat New Earswick 73-45.

Betty Bainton and Sandra Burley won Earswick's only rubber.

York are the only team in division one to have won all their games.

The 74-34 victory at Poppleton was their eighth straight win and featured 26 games for Louise Lister and Wendy Stirke.

Bubwith held their nerve to chalk up their first win of the season at the expense of Bishopthorpe.

Just two points split the teams going i to the last round which saw Sue Yoward and Fran Critchley storm to an 11-1 win for Bishopthorpe.

However, Liz Bramley and Linda Tennant, 10-2 winners, hit back for Bubwith, who won the last runner 7-5.

Jill McCreedy and Julie Reilly collected 29 games in Fulford's 56-52 win at Tadcaster.

Dunnington moved above Poppleton in to third place

Cawood beat Selby 70-38 to go top of division three above Dunnington, whose Carol Martin and Jo Parkinson won three times in the 67-41 victory over Wistow.

First string players Pam Lockman and Angela Bush won 23 games from three wins as Sutton upon Derwent recorded their first win of the season, 55-53 against Riccall.

Poppleton pipped Cliffe by four games, unbeaten Chris Moss and Pat Mackellar winning 23 games.

The Heworth pairing of Helen Larkin and Louise Haritakis maintained their unbeaten

form in division four with 29 games in the 67-41 win over Pocklington.

Strensall edged out Sheriff Hutton 55-53 with Alison Smethurst and Judith Simpson scoring 27 games for Strensall.

Castlegarth didn't drop a single rubber as they thumped Wigginton 71-37.

In division five, Boston Spa moved in to third place after beating Appleton Roebuck 70-38, Anne Milne and Sheila Taylor winning 32 games.

Marianne Deamer and Chantal Lancaster won 28 games at division six leaders New Generation beat Knaresborough 71-37.

supported with 26 games.

Rhian Scott and Annette Keeler only dropped three games as they piled up 33 in Copmanthorpe's 67-41 demolition of struggling Selby.

Pam Mason and Katherine Ekers won 8-4 7-5 7-4 as Fulford beat Dunnington, whose Rena Boorman and Emma Mitchell won 21 games.
