DIVISION four leaders Drax collected maximum points again with another run feast against hapless Heworth.

James Brook (69), John Pensitone (43) and Ian Goulden (42) contributed to a total of 214-7.

Hot on their heels are second-placed Acomb, who amassed 229-3 at Melbourne with Dickenson and Skilbeck sharing a second wicket stand of 128. Ben Wallace led the charge for Acomb taking 3-28 as the hosts were bowled out for 104.

Burn were made to pay for inserting hosts Bishopthorpe as Andy Spence collected a personal best 93 from 94 deliveries to help the Bishops recover from 10-2 to 188-6. Bishops' veterans Mike Brown and Derrick Slack restricted Burn to 103 despite a late flurry by Steve Goldsborough (31).

Pocklington posted a useful 158-9 against York with Peter Eastwood top scoring with 33no. York replied with Pervais Ahktar (58) and Allison (53) ensuring a comfortable five-wicket win for the Clifton Park outfit.

Bottom club Ovington are still looking for that elusive first win after going down by five wickets at Selby.

Only two games were played in division five. At Malton, the home side scored 165-9 against Wheldrake with Stuart Benson making a half-century and support coming from Derek Searle and Adam Morley. Kevin Dent bowled throughout and picked up six wickets.

The young Wheldrake side lost wickets steadily with good innings coming from John Cockerill, J Upton and Kevin Dent, but ended up 31 runs short.

Thorpe Willoughby lost to Tadcaster by eight wickets in a low scoring game. Alistair North made an unbeaten 43 for Thorpe while T Hardy was unbeaten on 56 for Tadcaster.

In the first division five 'Conference' League, played under cup rules with a novel points system, Woodhouse Grange's 170-8 proved too much for Copmanthorpe.
