DRINKERS in York thought they were seeing things when they caught a glimpse of David Beckham supping a pint in a local pub.
But the Real Madrid footballer hadn't made a trip to York from the sunny climes of Spain. Instead, it was Beckham look-alike Paul Mansley, from Scunthorpe, who was making sure a quadruple hen night went swimmingly.
The posh do was to help brides-to-be Helen Kaye, Sally Littlewood, Alex Male and Nicole Kirby celebrate their last days as single women with 35 of their closest friends. All four women work at York-based marketing agency The Teamwork Group, and have weddings scheduled for next month.
The wannabe Beckham made sure they arrived at York's Pitcher and Piano bar in style by accompanying the four in a chauffeur-driven limousine.
