HARMONIOUS half-backs Scott Rhodes and Danny Brough were the big movers in the Evening Press/Collier Plant Hire player-of-the-season standings over the past two weeks.
The deadly duo have both moved onto 13 points, level with captain Rich Hayes and just two behind long-time leader Trevor Krause.
Super stand-off Rhodes was in scintillating form as the Knights beat National League Two leaders Keighley 48-28 at Huntington Stadium a fortnight ago, and he followed up the three player-of-the-year points from that match with another one in the demolition of London Skolars last week in which he set up several tries.
Scrum-half Brough took centre-stage last weekend as he totalled a club record 26 points with a stunning try - after just 15 seconds - and 11 goals to claim top marks.
Mark Cain has kept in touch after taking three points in the last two games. He just missed out on being man of the match last week after becoming the first Knights player to score a hat-trick and the two player-of-the-year points he won were added to the one he got against Keighley, in which he again impressed in the unaccustomed role of centre.
Try-scoring sensation Neil Law picked up the remaining two points against the Cougars for his power-packed display and two touchdowns.
Almost every other player can count themselves unlucky not to have added to their tallies in the past two games.
At the end of the year, the player at the top of the pile wins £300 and the runner-up £150. If scores are tied, standings will be decided by the number of man of the match awards won.
Player-of-the-year standings: Krause 15, Hayes 13, Rhodes 13, Brough 13, Smith 12, Jackson 11, Cain 10, Broadbent 8, Law 8, Fletcher 6, Hallas 6, Godfrey 4, Ramsden 4, Callaghan 3, Thaler 3, Lloyd 3, Beever 3, Kama 2, Bolus 1.
