A 22-YEAR-OLD man charged with the murder of a York pensioner was remanded in custody after a hearing at York Crown Court.
Wayne Cooper, of Danesfort Avenue, Acomb, is charged with the murder and robbery of Eilleen Smith, 72, of Hebden Rise, Acomb, on Wednesday August 27.
Cooper was not present at court for yesterday's hearing. He will next appear at York Crown Court on September 26.
