DEAN Smith (Trabucco Elton) was victorious again at Woodlands taking the mid-week open from peg 27 on Skylark.

Fishing both up in the water and at depth with meat at 13 and 16 metres he had carp to 5lb in a huge net of 131lb 10oz. Close by, on peg 26, Alan Menzies (Sensas Garbolino) fished paste at 12 metres for a straight 100lb of carp to 8lb.

Smith was in the points again at the Oaks on Sunday securing the full four points to add to his total. Drawn peg 44 he offered pellet tight to the island at 13 metres for a brilliant 77lb 14oz of small carp.

Second in the 50-entry was Chris Hall (Oaks) who offered maggot over groundbait tight over on peg 30 for an all carp 67lb 12oz.

Dave Armitage (Bob.Co) romped to victory in Saturday's 45-entry on Goldrush at the Willows.

Drawn on peg 35 by the house, he targeted the island opposite at 16 metres with pellet and meat for 74lb 8oz of carp, bream and ide to 5lb.

Dave Cheetham (Castleford) took second from peg 42 where he had carp to 4lb on pellets at 12 metres for his 44lb 7oz.

The mid-week open drew a good crowd to Ridgepool at the Willows where Dave Pollit (Hirst Tackle) scored another win from peg 18.

Alternating pellet and meat across to the island, he bagged an all-carp 52lb with fish to 6lb. Alistair Wilkes (Boston Spa) continued his good run with a second placed net of 35lb 2oz. Drawn peg 26, he fished caster over hemp for chub and barbel to 2lb.

The Saturday open at Tollerton Ponds went to Pete Wright on Kingfisher. Fishing pellet at 11 metres he had a mixed net of carp, tench and ide scaling 38-12-0. Gordon Fennell was second with a 38-6-0 of carp and tench on paste ahead of Les Bolton, who alternated pellet and worm for his 35-4-0.

The Acomb Tackle match at Oaktree was contested on Pond Two by 16 anglers. Martin Reynolds (Acomb Tackle) led with a level 76lb of carp and bream on pole and pellet to the far shelf. Best of the rest were Barry Richardson (Acomb Tackle) 59-0-0 and Tom Wilson (Acomb Tackle) 40-8-0.
