YORK Cricket Club approaches Saturday's programme with three of its teams having a chance of league leadership and promotion, while the club's third X1 have already risen from the York Senior League sixth division.

The toughest ask faces the senior ranks in the Yorkshire ECB premier league, where nine points cover six teams with a maximum of 16 points to play for over the remaining two matches.

Castleford, the current leaders by two points, visit Doncaster, who trounced York last week, whereas the Clifton Park side entertain Rotherham, who are well embedded at the foot of the league.

However, as Rotherham beat Doncaster a fortnight ago York will be hoping they don't have another rabbit left in their hat. The hosts will be without bowler Greg How, who has a leg strain.

York, in second place, will be looking over their shoulders as they are level on points with Cleethorpes, who have a relatively easy fixture at home to Appleby Frodingham.

New Yorkshire club champions Harrogate hover two points further behind and are away to Yorkshire Academy on Sunday.
