WHENEVER York Races and traffic congestion are mentioned in the same sentence, I am mindful of how close York Racecourse is to the A64 - yet there is no direct access to the racecourse from the A64.
Wouldn't it be wise to use the 2005 York/Ascot Meeting as a target date for establishing a direct link to the course from the Copmanthorpe/ Tadcaster Road end?
A similar scheme worked brilliantly for Silverstone - we drove straight in at 10am and straight out again with no delays.
