A YORK Meals On Wheels service has celebrated four decades of ferrying food to hungry households.
Huntington Meals On Wheels celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special party at Huntington Community Centre.
Staff from the service's 40 years were at Friday's party, which was attended by Lord Mayor of York Chas Hall, Lady Mayoress Janice Hall, Sheriff of York Keith Orrell and Sheriff's Lady Judith Orrell.
Founder member Wendy Dryland said: "We had a lovely day, it went very well. The atmosphere was lovely, we had to be slightly formal in some ways, with the Lord Mayor being there, but there was lots of laughter as well."
The 40th anniversary was also being marked with a photograph exhibition at Huntington Library, displaying nostalgic shots from Meals On Wheels work down the years.
