IT'S an amnesty with a difference, for tired toothbrushes rather than deadly weapons. It is all for charity, and it has arrived at a store in York.
Tesco and toothpaste producer Colgate have joined forces to run a national campaign, encouraging people to bring in their old toothbrushes and place them in special units at stores, including the Tesco Extra outlet at Clifton Moor.
For every toothbrush received this month, which is Oral Health Month, 50p will be donated to the Facial Surgery Research Foundation, to help fund research into oral cancer.
Dental care information will also be available at the store.
