ON a recent Sunday I attended a most enjoyable evening of entertainment provided by local talent at Pocklington Civic Arts Centre.
Acts included a house band, folk singing, classical piano by 14-year-old boy, Stanley Holloway-style monologues, French music, and a superb guitar duo playing tunes from Django Reinhardt, the Beatles and a stunning version of Czardas Monti.
What a shame that the well-equipped and modern auditorium was only half full. My thanks to the organisers for a lot of hard work and I am looking forward to the next event.
