WHEN is our police force going to 'stand up and be counted'?

Another handbag snatch occurred on the Acomb-Dringhouses border at 11.45am last Wednesday morning.

My friend, a middle-aged woman who suffers from multiple sclerosis and yet still manages two jobs, had her handbag pulled from her arm while cycling home.

On making a statement to the police the officer had the audacity to ask her what lessons she'd learned from the incident, inferring it had been her own fault!

My message to PC Plod is: "Get your boots soled, heeled and polished, and get pounding the beat" and you'll maybe actually see the crime on your patch.
