POPPLETON lead division one of the York Mitchell Sports League after beating hosts Selby Olympia 'A'.

Nick Thompson and Alex Fowler both scored a brace of goals with George Chambers, Adam Ferguson, Sam Hope and an own goal boosting their tally. Jordan Philips got a consolatory reply for Olympia 'A'.

Tadcaster pulled off a good win against Copmanthorpe, Olly Box scoring twice to add to Joe Breedon and Jake Wright efforts. Hugh Barlow replied for Copmanthorpe.

Edward Gobby scored both goals from long-range for Hamilton Panthers 'A' in their triumph over Fulford.

Free-scoring Nestl hammered seven goals without reply against Brooklyn. Mark Dobson and Jack Barrett both hit two, with Arron Kirby, Joshua Piercy and Michael Hattee also finding the net.

George Elliot's goal for Easingwold Town was not enough as Matthew Clay and Lee Topping hit the mark for Haxby Town 'A' to claim all three points.

In division two, Real Cliffe hit North Duffield for six led by Tom Dunning's hat-trick ahead of goals from Michael Brown, Craig Allen and Dominic Smith.

Heworth, with goals from Michael Whiteley, Kristian Pennock and Declan Malarkey beat neighbours New Earswick, whose Sean Precious scored twice.

Two goals from Kyle Waite sealed the win by Wigginton Grasshoppers over York RI.

Stamford Bridge went down heavily to Barlby Raiders at home. Craig Benn was on target for the hosts, but his was a lone response to a Chris Scott hat-trick and strikes from Kane Williamson, Ryan Lockwood, Jordan Yeoman, Thomas Ellam, Tony Hardman, Liam Holden and Ryan Lofthouse.

Elvington still head division three following a home win over Selby Olympia 'B'. Marksmen were Lewis Clydesdale (3), James Hopwood (2) and Alex Brent. In reply Gary Chapman struck twice.

Second-placed Pocklington beat Haxby Town 'B' with Scott Franklin getting a hat-trick, supplemented by goals from James Griffiths, Gareth Evans and James Beevers.

South Milford, with four goals from Chris Young and a fifth from Simon Byrne, beat Huntington, whose Andrew Allenby, Karl Richardson and Joe Pinder also found the net.
