A HEARTY breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But whether a handful of peanuts washed down by a pint contains all the important food groups, only a nutritionist could say.
That will not bother die-hard sports fans, however. They will happily swap their cornflakes for Carling and their Shredded Wheat for Sam Smith's over the next few weeks as pubs open early to screen matches from the Rugby Union World Cup.
So if you hear an unsteady chorus of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot one morning, you can be sure that England have done well.
