YORK City chief Chris Brass admits the Minstermen owe their travelling faithful a performance at Mansfield Town.

City bounced back to winning ways last Saturday with a 2-0 home win over Cambridge United.

However, their poor performance at Gigg Lane just days earlier, when City slipped to a 2-0 defeat, is still painfully fresh in then memory.

City have picked up just one point on their last four outings after starting the season with victories at Carlisle and Huddersfield Town.

"If you are being honest, you have to admit our away form has been a bit erratic," conceded Brass.

"We have played well in some games but certainly not in our last away game, which was totally unacceptable.

"I am sure we will have an abundance of support with us at Mansfield on Saturday and we really can't afford to let them down anymore."

Brass confirmed he has added new signing Craig Dove and striker Jon Parkin, who scored on his return to reserve team action on Wednesday, to the squad.

Brass was giving little away as to his starting line-up, although he indicated Parkin will more than likely start on the bench.

Having signed Dove on loan for just a month it is unlikely Brass will keep the youngster, who is definitely match fit having played for Middlesbrough reserves in midweek, on the bench.

At the same time, Brass is usually reluctant to change a winning team.

However, the City chief hinted he might be sweating on the fitness of an unnamed player for tomorrow's trip to Mansfield, which might open the door for Dove to make his debut.
