Before the Conservative Party conference in Blackpool, all the talk was of Tory MPs plotting to oust Iain Duncan Smith as party leader.

The conference came and went and, as yet, no rebellion. The disgruntled MPs must be unable to agree on an alternative.

While it is unfortunate for the Conservative Party that there is no alternative, it is even more unfortunate for the electorate that there is no alternative to another term of Tony Blair.

No wonder voters are apathetic.
