IN the League Junior Cup Elvington Harriers overturned current league form to win in extra time at Easingwold.

The home side are currently unbeaten in division two but found themselves a goal down by half time after Dave Lunn headed home.

Rich Jennison equalised but substitute Alex Thornton restored the visitors' lead, which they held until two minutes from the end of normal time when Tim Jackson scored. Elvington refused to give in and were rewarded by a Richard Walshaw winner in the first period of extra time.

The defeat of Easingwold was good news for league newcomers Tockwith, who won 5-2 at Ouseburn and must now be considered favourites to take the cup. Darren Horsefield and Richard Dwight were the Ouseburn scorers.

Amotherby & Swinton overcame Stillington 3-1 thanks to a Simon Wall hat-trick with goals on 20, 30 and 55 minutes, the last being a 25-yard shot.

Hemingbrough went through at York RI with goals from Chris Burton (2), Danny Smith and Dave Young. Luke Richardson netted both the RI goals. Norton needed extra time before coming away from LNER Builders with a 4-3 win. Andrew Tuite (2) and Lee Jackson struck goals for Builders as normal time finished with the teams tied at 3-3.

The Heslington v Selby RSSC tie also needed extra time before the home side went through 3-2 with goals from Simon Musgrave (2) and Matt Burkitt.

Poppleton were run close by Fulford after leading 3-0 at half time. An own goal set them on their way with Matt Graham and Craig Theaker adding more before the break. Glen Featherstone and Chris Irwin pulled Fulford back to 3-2 before Theaker eased the pressure by striking Poppleton's fourth.

The remaining tie in this round between Strensall and White Horse will be played on November 1.
