HUGH Barlow was the hat-trick hero as Copmanthorpe stepped up their York Mitchell Sports League title challenge with a 6-2 victory over Fulford.

Copmanthorpe's other marksmen in the division one clash were Josh Ferguson (2) and Ben Johnston. Lee Potter and George Whitby replied for Fulford.

League leaders Poppleton went down 3-2 to Tadcaster Albion despite goals from Sam Hope and Ryan O'Reilly. Albion took the points thanks to Stanley Hilson, Olly Box and Joe Breedon.

Michael Bryam bagged a brace and Ryan Qualter and Chris Taylor were also on the scoresheet in Haxby Town 'A's 4-0 win at Hamilton Panthers 'A'.

Selby Olympia 'A' had Chris Calvert and Aaron Davey on target in their 2-2 draw with Brooklyn, who replied through Sam Hall and Shane Thompson.

A 5-0 win for Thorpe United at Easingwold moved them up to third in the table.

With Heworth not playing, Real Cliffe closed the gap at the top of Division Two to one point by maintaining their 100 per cent record with a 3-0 defeat of York RI. Tom Dunning (2) and Dominic Smith netted.

Wiggington Grasshoppers hammered neighbours New Earswick 6-0 with Liam Morrison (3), Kyle Waite (2) and William Plews on target.

Another derby saw Dunnington prolong bottom club Stamford Bridge's wait for their first points of the season.

Wheldrake ran out 3-2 winners at Huntington thanks to Dan Whittaker's brace and a James Smith effort. Daniel Myars and Chris Russell scored for Huntington.
