IN reply to the letter from Mr R Topham about the installation of CCTV cameras at Barstow House (March 15), I wish to reassure your readers.
Barstow House provides extra care housing for older tenants who occupy their own flats within a secure facility.
Support is available throughout the day and evening and is on call 24 hours per day.
Fund-raising by residents to install CCTV cameras, with the help of Safer York Partnership, is a welcome initiative which provides added security.
