MAN of the match Ryan Gallacher ran in five tries for York Acorn Amateur Rugby League Club under-tens in a 34-30 win at Eastmoor. Danny Atkins added two and Tom Winn and Ryan Dufflel kicked the extras.

Stanningley proved too strong for Acorn under-12s as they swept to a 20-0 Challenge Cup victory.

All the points came in the first half with a more resolute Acorn holding out in the second.

Acorn under-nines recorded their best performance of the season so far in a 40-14 defeat of Criggleston All Blacks.

Jack Anderson scored two tries as did Oliver Hardwick, with Jordan Myers and Harry Bromwich crossing for singles. Anderson, Ryan Waters, Tim Stubbs, Sean Kellett and Myers were the successful goal-kickers.

New Earswick All Blacks under-nines put up a good fight against a fiery Fryston but still lost 9-5. The brilliant Sam Gell blazed his way to four tries with new boy James Harrison scoring the other.
