PETER Lorimer today laughed off a report that Galatasaray have made an approach for Leeds United marksman Mark Viduka.

Director Lorimer reckons it is open sea-son for stories linking Leeds' biggest names with moves out of Elland Road this summer.

Lorimer shrugged: "There is plenty of speculation going on because people know we have to cut our wage bill. Lots of clubs will be asking about Mark Viduka's availability because his ability is known to everyone, but, as the chairman had said, until we know what division we will be in next season we can't discuss individual players. There has been no concrete offer for Mark Viduka."

Top earner Viduka looks certain to be on the move in the summer, whether Leeds survive in the Premiership or not, but Alan Smith is likely to stay if relegation is avoided.

Managing Director David Richmond said: "We categorically deny any interest from Galatasaray in Mark Viduka or any of our players.

"Speculation of this kind is not particularly helpful. We do not want anything to distract us from football at this stage.

"We want to let Eddie Gray and the players get on with it and secure Premiership safety."
