Flat and jumps racing shake hands tomorrow in a mixed meeting at Sandown, which promises to keep followers of both spheres delighted, courtesy of a £70,000 race over hurdles and a £50,000 Classic trial.

Frankie Dettori is fancied to play a starring role in the latter event, with Privy Seal, trained by John Gosden.

Dettori has made a sparkling start to the season. He rode another two winners at Epsom yesterday afternoon before completing a treble at Lingfield last night.

Privy Seal made a winning start to the campaign when landing the Easter Stakes at Kempton and, with the Gosden horses in such good nick, he can provide Dettori with another victory in the Betfred Classic Trial. Gold History, a gritty winner for Mark Johnston at Newmarket last week, could be the main danger.

Johnny Murtagh, who was in action at Beverley this afternoon after being among the winners at Epsom yesterday, can be on the scoresheet at Sandown.

He teams-up with United Nations in the Sunderlands Conditions Stakes. David Loder's exciting colt will surely take plenty of beating.

Successful on his debut at Newmarket last week, United Nations looks a colt of high class potential and it is significant that he represents Loder here instead of Andean, an impressive Yarmouth winner on his reappearance.

In the valuable Concept Hurdle, Intersky Falcon looks the most obvious winner.

Jonjo O'Neill's charge finished third in last month's Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham and a close fourth in the Aintree Hurdle earlier this month, where he arguably arrived on the scene a little too soon.

A classy performer, a match for the best hurdlers around on his day, Intersky is napped to end the season on a winning note.

The Gold Cup-winning team of Henrietta Knight and Jim Culloty can make their presence felt in the opening Betfred 'In Running On Sport' Handicap Chase with Zaffamore.

The eight-year-old has won two of his last three starts and looks capable of making a bold bid in this £25,000 event.

Much further north - as far as you can go in racing terms - Perth brings down the curtain on its three-day festival with a competitive programme.

Dual Grand National-winning jockey Graham Lee promises to be among the winners.

Lee teams-up with Dream On Willie in the toteplacepot Novices' Handicap Chase and the consistent seven-year-old, a winner at Wetherby earlier this season, is selected to get back in the winning groove.

Richard McGrath looks likely to get a good ride from Forest Gunner in the £30,000 Press & Journal Handicap Chase over three miles.

Earlier this month Forest Gunner underlined his well-being when winning the Aintree Foxhunters' Chase over the Grand National fences. He can follow-up over more orthodox obstacles tomorrow.

This afternoon's meeting at Salisbury was called off this morning. Parts of the course are unfit for racing following two and a half inches of rain on the past 72 hours.
