ALL quiet on the Preston front? Definitely not. The Ordinary Boys, the Worthing band with a singer by the name of Preston, have been kicking up a noise on the NME Britpack Tour and this week set out on their spring headline tour.

On Saturday night they play where else but Preston; on Sunday, they cross the Pennines for a night at Fibbers in York; on Monday, they move on to the Cockpit in Leeds.

Second single Week In, Week Out, was released earlier this month and was picked as a BBC Radio One Drive Time single of the week, and the Boys have recorded sessions for Radio One's Zane Lowe and Steve Lamacq, Virgin Radio and xfM.

A third single will be out in June and debut album Over The Counter Culture will follow later that month, when comparisons with The Smiths, Paul Weller in his Jam Days, and Blur are sure to litter the reviews.

"We're about putting back the honesty and passion in music that's been missing for too long," says front man Preston.

Tickets for Sunday cost £6 in advance, £7 on the door.
