DONCASTER Rovers' in-form striker Adebayo Akinfenwah will not be available for tomorrow's crucial clash against York City.

Akinfenwah, who has netted four goals in four starts for the Belle Vue club after being released by Rushden, has had his appeal against a sending off at Bristol Rovers rejected and will begin his ban against the Minstermen.

In his absence, home manager Dave Penny will turn to on-loan Sunderland striker Chris Brown or veteran target man Leo Fortune-West as a partner for 19-goal top scorer Gregg Blundell.

Brown, who was pursued earlier this season by City boss Chris Brass, has scored eight goals in 14 starts for Rovers while Fortune-West has hit the net 12 times in 31.

Doncaster will have an otherwise fully-fit squad to choose from although right-winger Fran Tierney will not be in contention despite playing his second reserve game after a four-month injury lay-off.

Highly-rated midfielder and Scotland 'B' international Michael McIndoe has been passed fit after an eye injury saw him miss Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Torquay.

The Third Division leaders will be hoping to bounce back from that defeat, which was their first in 15 games,

while City will be bidding to become only the third team to win a league match at Doncaster this season after play-off hopefuls Lincoln City and Yeovil.
