Sevillano, whose two wins this season have stamped him as a sprinter of growing potential, puts his reputation on the line at Newbury tomorrow.

Peter Cundall's rising star tackles his stiffest test in the date in the Cantor Sport Carnarvon Stakes and is fancied to come through with flying colours once more.

The runaway winner of his comeback race at Leicester, where he beat Harry Up by no less than ten lengths, Sevillano followed-up at Hamilton where, starting the long odds-on favourite, he beat Celtic Thunder by just under two lengths, without coming under any serious pressure.

A more searching challenge awaits him tomorrow in Listed company, but such is Sevillano's sky-high confidence, he will surely take all the beating in this six-furlongs dash.

Frankie Dettori, seen to such good effect on Knavesmire this week, promises to also play a starring role at Newbury, where his mounts include the potentially high-class Winds Of March.

Trained by John Gosden, Winds Of March lines-up for the £30,000 Swettenham Stud Fillies' Trial and is taken to fulfill the promise of her debut win over this course-and-distance a month ago.

Open to considerable improvement, Winds Of March is napped to prove equal to this stiffer task.

Siena Gold should give Dettori a good ride in the Sanctuary Group Fillies' Stakes.

A fluent winner on her debut at Newmarket last month, when she beat Dance Away by five lengths, Siena Gold looks a useful sprinter in the making.

Dettori also has good prospects aboard J R Stevenson, who only needs to reproduce his solid fourth-placed effort behind Retirement at Ascot last time to be involved in the finish of the TKP Surfacing Handicap.

Primo Way, who broke his maiden tag at Southwell last month, should go well in the Scottish Equitable/Jockeys' Association of Great Britain Handicap for trainer Barry Hills and his jockey-son Michael.

At Nottingham, Secretary General can land The Browne Jacobson Classified Stakes. Trained by Paul Cole, whose horses are in good form, Secretary General was a progressive two-year-old last season, winning his final start. Secretary General should have benefitted from his recent seasonal reappearance.
