ON visiting York for the fourth time in two years I was disappointed to find that all fish and chip shops around the railway station and the tourist bus stop closed at 2pm and opened again at 6pm.
On asking at the Tourist Information Centre at the station they said one is open all day about ten minutes away.
If that is their attitude to day visitors it is a wonder people come back.
The reason I was looking for this meal was I had just arrived from Malton were I was made very welcome.
