I WAS surprised and saddened to read in a national newspaper that D-Day (BBC1) had been given only a three-star rating by its own newspaper's television critic.
So I was very happy and grateful to read what was to me an excellent narrative by Julian Cole when he reviewed the programme ("Beeb wins with D-Day tribute," June 12). Mr Cole's words were a comfort to myself and my family at this time of such painful memories.
