YOUR article 'There's no YTV on our Sky TV" (July 30) amused me.

Yes my wife and I were a bit surprised by the changeover of programmes, although we did receive warning. But the comment by Andrew Clark that nothing can be done about the missing Yorkshire coverage is inaccurate.

Here at Sheriff Hutton we also now receive our ITV news from Tyne Tees, but our BBC news coverage is from Yorkshire.

So all Mr Clark and others need to do is switch to BBC1 for the local news and they should be happy.

The added benefit is that they avoid the infuriatingly-frequent adverts for a while.

We always had our normal aerial tuned to Tyne Tees when living at Stamford Bridge until recently, because our reception from Yorkshire was very poor. We prefer the Tyne Tees presenters and the important happenings from York, North and East Yorkshire have always been included in their news.

Give the new service a fair trial, you may get to like it.
