'WE DON'T want war' - that was the message from hundreds of York area peace protesters who today headed to London for what could be Britain's biggest-ever demonstration.
More than 1,500 demonstrators left the city to deliver a hard-hitting anti-war message to the world's political leaders. The protesters filled 21 coaches and a minibus, and packed trains heading south. Many also travelled by car.
About 500,000 people were expected to march in London, with many other thousands protesting elsewhere - including Glasgow, where Tony Blair was trying to persuade the Labour Party's spring conference to back his stance on Iraq.
