THERE is no better way to enjoy our city than by foot. And soon there may be even more York to walk.
Councillors are to use a Government grant to improve public rights of way. York already has a good record on walking and cycling routes and this project will take that work forward.
More and better rights of way will allow residents to make the most of their city and the surrounding countryside. We hope the council makes a success of the project, and that authorities such as North Yorkshire, which has a patchy record on walkers' rights, will watch and learn.
