YORK Elvis impersonator Eddie Vee has been brushing up on his musical knowledge.

Tonight, he will join 39 other "Elvises" to take on civil servants, personal trainers and barmaids in BBC1's Test The Nation programme, to be broadcast live at 8.30pm

Eddie even has a front row seat next to fellow York Elvis Jim Santana.

"We're going to roast under those studio lights. I'm wearing my bright yellow drape suit and Jim's jumpsuit's fully lined," he said.

But the bewigged, jump-suited bunch will need to do more than just strut their stuff if they want to emerge victorious.

"I'm best on 1950s rock 'n' roll and number one hits, but if they hit us with a hip hop question, I'll be in trouble," said Eddie.

Whoever wins, the Elvises plan to out-party their opponents at the after-show bash.

Eddie said: "Civil servants and dentists? They won't give us much competition on the dance floor!"
