The York man banned from all hospitals in the UK is to spend a further 12 weeks in a secure psychiatric unit while doctors decide if his mental condition is treatable.

York Crown Court heard that two doctors had assessed Norman Hutchins, 53, of Rowntree Avenue, Clifton, at the Humber Centre for Forensic Psychiatry for several weeks, but wanted more time with him before he was sentenced for offences of deception, a public order offence and carrying an offensive weapon in public.

His case was adjourned and he was returned to the centre. He is currently subject to an interim antisocial behaviour order banning him from all health centres throughout the country, other than under strict guidelines laid down to protect staff and the public.
