After a wretched start to the season that saw Bishopthorpe lose both opening games and concede 13 goals they have now registered their third win on the trot following a 3-0 home win over Dunnington.

The visitors, forced to make seven changes from their midweek starting XI, battled hard but fell to a Steve Purdy brace and a Dave Kettlewell strike.

The experience of the Huntington Rovers side proved to be a telling factor in their second 5-1 away win of the season as they beat a young Wiggington Black Horse side.

Chris Dyson opened the scoring from close range and Kevin Martin extended the lead before the break slotting the ball past the advancing 'keeper. A Dyson volley made it 3-0 before Ashley Hill pulled one back for the home side, but Huntington emphasised their superiority with two late goals. Rob Ellis headed in a Glynn Banks' cross and the latter then completed the rout direct from a corner.

The top of the table clash went the way of home side Thorpe United.

Visitors Pocklington struggled to stay in the game after falling behind to a Danny Crowther left-footed drive. Dean Woods' penalty doubled the lead by half-time. Virtually straight from the kick-off Crowther headed home before Mark Cahill added a fourth to take Thorpe clear at the top of the table.

A first half hat-trick from Old Malton's Dave Bradshaw quickly ended any hopes Copmanthorpe had of a first win of the season.

Heath Brown, scoring for his third successive game, added the fourth ahead of Neil Wilford and Ben Richardson completing the 6-0 win.

Malton Bacon Factory are still looking for their first home win of the season after they had to share the points in a 2-2 draw with Dringhouses.

Nigel Allan put the home side in front but a poor back pass enabled Mark Woodward to equalise for 'Houses.

Phil Marwood restored the lead for the Bacon ranks five minutes from the interval direct from a free-kick, but Alex Dewhurst levelled again for the champions. A John Lake header almost snatched the points late on for the visitors but his effort hit an upright and rebounded to safety.

Kartiers' manager Ian Jennings still believed his team were playing the better football despite been 4-0 down at the break to Haxby United, whose Scott Barley and Gavin Young nodded home supplemented by strikes from Richard Iggulend and Mark Scoreby.

Glen Littlewood made it 4-1 within two minutes of the re-start and Liam Olsson added a late second, but Haxby held on to their third win on the spin.
