BEFORE Coun Scott started political mud-slinging in your columns (Letters, September 2) regarding absences from the planning east vote on Burton Croft, he should have checked his own party's attendance.
Coun Ruth Potter was not there and had no substitute in attendance either - Labour still have more councillors than the Greens from which to find substitutes.
From checking the minutes, Coun Scott also failed to take the opportunity as ward councillor to attend and speak at the meeting, but then perhaps he was on holiday too. Is it any wonder people don't trust politicians?
