HONOURS were even as York RUFC's Development Squad started their inaugural campaign with a mini-tour to Scarborough.
Winger James Lund scored a hat-trick of tries as the Under- 18s won 24-5 but theU16s went down 26-5.
York's other try in the older encounter was scored by centre Mark McDaid with Eddie Hick and Andy Brown kicking a conversion each.
The U16s suffered a setback in their game when fly-half Paul Fernandez went off with a knee injury. York's try was scored by centre Tom Elliott and Danny Bates was outstanding in defence.
