BEHIND every winning team is a good physio. And behind York Groves' new physio is a winning behind.

Seventeen-year-old student Hannah Wyles has agreed to administer the magic sponge whenever necessary for the amateur rugby players on match-days.

What's more, the Stamford Bridge student is willing to have sponsored the part of her anatomy that fans will see whenever she runs onto the pitch - the back of her shorts.

Groves have been without a physio for years and, now that they've found a volunteer, the plan is to get Hannah sponsored to pay for a physiotherapy course.

"It was (player-coach) Simon Moat's idea," she explained. "I've always watched rugby and I've thought about physio before but wasn't really sure. But now I thought why not. It was more about the social side - it'll be fun."

Hannah is currently studying 'A' levels in psychology, English language, dance and maths in the hope of getting a university place next year.

"I was thinking about doing sports psychology which is kind of related. I'll see how this physio thing goes and take it from there."

Simon said: "We've been trying to get someone who's willing to help us out and Hannah said out of the blue that she'd do it. They do this kind of sponsorship in Super League and we thought it was a good idea to help pay her through her course."
