IS this the beginning of the end for Radio York?

I don't know how the presenters feel about being moved around (Diary, September 8), but I, and a great number of other listeners, are not very happy.

The Jonathan Cowap phone-in programme is first rate.

When it was on from 9am to noon, I could always listen, and sometimes contribute, along with many others.

Then the hierarchy, with their lack of wisdom, moved his programme to lunchtime onwards when commitments prevented my listening.

Now they have decided to shove him to what they call the "drive time" programme.

This is also supposed to be a phone-in show. The BBC can't have it both ways; if a person is driving, they can't phone in, and people at home are usually busy preparing dinner with no particular interest in listening to the radio.

No disrespect is intended towards any of the other presenters, but I feel it would have made more sense to bring JC back to the morning slot. Jules and Julia seem very nice people and their show is good, they just lack the "voo-voo-voom" of Jonathan.

I only listen in the mornings if I happen to be out in the car, and now it's all change again. Is Radio York being aired for the listeners or for the convenience of the BBC?
